Privacy Policy

How YInstagram handles publicly available content, limited technical records, cookies, analytics and support messages.

Policy Summary

Public-content privacy notice for YInstagram visitors

YInstagram operates as a public-link media page service. Visitors do not need a YInstagram account or an Instagram password to use the public interface. This policy explains which limited categories of information may still be processed when a public Instagram URL is opened on YInstagram.

Scope and public content basis

YInstagram is designed to resolve and display only information that appears to be publicly available or publicly accessible when a supported Instagram URL is processed. The public site is not presented as a tool for reaching private accounts, private posts, hidden stories, confidential account data or restricted content.

When a supported public URL is resolved, YInstagram may process public metadata that is necessary to render the page, such as shortcode, media type, creator username, display name, preview image, profile image and temporary media links that are available under public-access conditions at that time.

  • Public shortcode, media type and path information needed to build the YInstagram landing page.
  • Publicly exposed preview images, profile images, captions, hashtags and creator names if those fields are available when the page is resolved.
  • Temporary media delivery links that may later expire or be refreshed.

Categories of information we may process

YInstagram tries to minimize data handling, but some information is still processed to render pages, operate infrastructure and keep the service secure. The exact categories depend on the page visited, whether a resolver succeeds, and whether you contact support or interact with site features.

  • Public media metadata associated with the Instagram URL you open.
  • Server and security logs, including IP address, request path, user agent, status code and timestamp.
  • Browser-side storage or cookie values used for theme preference, notice dismissal, vote throttling and other lightweight site functions.
  • Analytics and traffic measurement events used to understand page usage, traffic sources and product performance.
  • Support messages, billing enquiries or rights requests voluntarily sent to YInstagram by email or contact form.

Why YInstagram processes information

Information is processed only to the extent reasonably necessary to provide the public downloader experience, maintain stable landing pages, understand product usage, prevent abuse and respond to operational or legal requests.

  • Resolve supported public Instagram URLs into cleaner media pages.
  • Render previews, player pages, creator pages, hashtag pages and internal archives.
  • Remember basic browser preferences and cookie-notice dismissal choices.
  • Detect suspicious traffic and protect the infrastructure from automated misuse.
  • Measure site usage, discover popular pages and improve the product experience.

Analytics, advertising and contact

YInstagram may use analytics tools, advertising technologies and hosting or delivery infrastructure that receive information generated by your browser or device. Depending on the tools enabled, those technologies may process identifiers such as IP address, cookie IDs, browser details, referrer data, on-site activity and engagement metrics.

Google publishes information about this type of partner-site processing in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. Where YInstagram uses Google services or ad technology in regions that require user consent, additional consent messaging may be shown in accordance with applicable law and platform requirements. Google also provides publisher guidance in Google AdSense consent guidance.

Questions about privacy, removal or data handling can be sent to support@yinstagram.com.
